How To Get Along –

The Scorpion and the Archer (the Centaur)

This series on AstroCompatibility will cover all of the potential matchups in the Zodiac. We will continue this series thinking about and commenting on Sagittarius and Scorpio.

Sagittarius and Scorpio

Sagittarius is Fire and Mutable. Scorpio is Water and Fixed. Scorpio is legendary in the zodiac for being supremely intense and keeping its own counsel. It keeps a placid exterior and an active and suspicious mind. That famous phrase, “I only trust me and thee, and I am not sure of thee!” applies to Scorpio. Many astrologers like to refer to the Eagle or the Dove in describing subtypes of Scorpio. Whether valid or not, it does go toward the multiplicity of forces that are alive in the Scorpion. From Ghandi to Patton, you have your choice as to what you would consider the master quality of the Scorpion. But, if you want to get simple instead of complex, think of the stinger. If you have picture of coming upon a scorpion in the desert, you feel immediately that it means business with its stinger held up, ready to strike. Sagittarius is full of “beaucoup” honesty.

They hand out unsolicited advice like it is a government program. They deliver left handed compliments and abrupt insults with a smile. If a Scorpio and a Centaur develop a relationship, the Scorpio will soon have to take an onslaught of arrows, most of which are just happy, merry shots of humor, some serious comments on style or manner, and maybe one good blow to the ego. Scorpio will have to immediately keep that placid look and pretend not to be bothered. But, oh will they remember. Depending upon their individual charts, and their true attraction and liking for one another, the strong features that they both have will either be amendable to adaptation or not.

The way to growth and fuller joy is often through adjusting to our loved ones. After years of learning from one another, we can become new creatures. Sagittarian dreams can lead the Scorpio to new uplifting states of optimism. Scorpio is not always the most upbeat soul. The Sagittarian can learn, though it probably feels that it needs little training, that a plan, a deeply held plan and sturdy self discipline can mean a great deal. Scorpio is sometimes absolutely burdened with the power of its own intent. Sagittarius is often not even aware or really certain about its overall intent. Half of the things they say come out in mid thought. You can see how both could be helped here, depending upon point of view. There is the creativity and dynamism of spontaneity. There is the creativity and dynamism of the big plan coming together. Yielding sometimes is the most creative act a person can do. There is great transformative power in yielding. Who will yield? To what degree? What is yielding’s best outcome?

Positive Postulate: What a pair – A Scorpion and a Centaur. Talk from one. Intense looks from the other. This couple, partnership, pair, mates, can make an impressive image going at what they want and are after. The Centaur feels it is special. The Centaur will gleam proudly even in the sunlight of disappointment. Scorpio does not adapt without a big reason. But together, maybe a plan comes together. Keeping their self esteem, but allowing for the other, a new team emerges.

Romance Recommendation: The Centaur emerges from the wood with a gleam in its eye. The Scorpion can look all ready for business right now. In order to merge in romantic wonder, they will make the most of what they are, and give up just a bit of what they are. In this lies adaptation and growth.
Conflict Quotient: A real down and out battle with these two would not be recommended. The Centaur would make lots of moves and be grinning as it yelled. The Scorpio would do vigorous battle if it felt it were forced to. The merging of these two would suggest a super moderation of their style in combat.

Peace Parlay: Life in the end is repetitive and mundane, and so is Romance itself. This factor asks the question: “Can we be bored together over the long term?” The Scorpion and the Sagittarian could benefit from the placidity that comes in a boring time. It would probably actually be a sign that they are getting along well.

Keep Up The Interest Graph: Great interest would result from Scorpion imagination and Centaurian sense of possibility. If they were humming along in a kind of boisterous and prosperous life together, new interest and stimulation would be an automatic result of their activity together.

Seven Year Itchiness:There are some signs that by their nature are more stable in their love interests and family concerns as time goes on. Others are not. The Sagittarian could jump over the fence on an impulse or out of direct and actual angry intent. They may seem foolish sometimes; however they are larger in scope and understanding and could restrain themselves because of the wonderful life they are living. The Scorpio would hold the same opinion, but not be quite as likely to wander off. Infidelity would be a potentially crushing issue to Scorpio. Sagittarius would also be profoundly offended, but less judgmental. 7 years would probably be a time to look inside the relationship and make assessments.

RATING: ASTROCOMPATIBILITY POSSIBILITY RATING: 65% Positive Long Term – 75% Short Term . If these two got together as new friends, they would be fascinated with the uniqueness of each other. Short term success could be the outcome of the startling individuals being mutually impressed. Assuming the attraction and magnetism were strong, the reasons to make adjustments would be strong. Learning from one another and deriving subsequent benefits would also compel them to lose their hard edges, as perceived by their counterparts. Scorpio making adjustments? Sagittarius backing off? Both possibilities, and the image creates a positive vision. What this is all about down here. Being, but also learning!
