How To Get Along – Cancer and Leo

The Moonchild and The Lion

This series on AstroCompatibility will cover all of the potential matchups in the Zodiac. We will continue this series thinking about and commenting on Cancer and Leo.

Cancer and Leo Live Together in the Heat of the Summer Winds.  Once Lives by the Sea, The Other Resides in the Golden Plains.

Cancer is a Cardinal Water sign. Leo is Fire and Fixed.  Cancer and Leo blend for different reasons.  Often what even Cancer forgets is that Cardinal means they are Leaders. Leo thinks of itself as a leader when it wakes in the morning.   Cancer and Leo have much to learn from each other, but can they ever really get along?

Some would say about Cancer and Leo, “Just don’t even go there!” For signs that pretty obviously are not going to be a cozy, sweetness and light, warm and comforting couple, most would say some version of “Don’t go there”.  The trouble is that the history of the planet is strewn with odd and unpredictable matches, like Cancer and Leo.  For karmic, cultural or plain inexplicable reasons, matches like Cancer and Leo  just go ahead and happen, live and reproduce. On the optimistic side, the resources that these two could utilize and put together could be quite impressive.  Cancer and Leo could be a winner.

Leos like to lead and they are not the most sensitive sign on the circle.

Cancer’s desire to lead, but with heart and soul and sensitivity, could be thwarted constantly. Leo’s devil-may-care, royal nonchalance does not fit in the Moonchild world. The Crab would pinch Leo’s furry toe at every opportunity. But that is because what the Leo will often egotistically reveal, is that Cancer needs to stop sulking, pouting over what might possibly happen and go out there and declare themselves and proudly live. The Cancer though, has much to teach Leo, but when do you get Leo’s attention, especially when it comes to a soulful psychic emotional deficit that they might have? However, if Leo would pay attention, they could benefit. In fact, if they did get along, and had a meeting of the souls, and were strongly attracted to each other, for various good reasons, this could be a powerful partnership, marriage, union, coupling.

Positive Postulate: Positively speaking, you can see Leo out front, proudly sticking its chest out and drawing acclaim. Cancer saying “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.” Cancer can talk and move around the troops and supply them and give them uniforms and the script. Leo can claim authorship, promote the operation and be the “brand” for the project. Cancer could complain later that it did all the work, and Leo could observe that they need to stay positive in order to stay in front of the competition.

Romance Recommendation: Cancer really could benefit from Leo’s sunshine! Cancer is cuddly and sweet and possesses, when joyful, emotions of full appreciation and love. Leo would not take to major adjustments, because their ego might be threatened. Cancer’s loving warmness could create pillows of comfort for the duo and it could patiently wait for Leo to make changes if the Crab promised not to mope.

Conflict Quotient: The Crab can skitter, pinch, disappear, hide and then come back with a new negative issue, especially if the conflict is deeply felt. The Leo is grand in a fight, but would find the psychic depletion necessary to take on Cancer a big drag on their normally upbeat outlook. Leo would not lose its sense of self esteem, but boy would they get tired attending to the Moonchild’s powerfully felt negative emotions. Leo should not get fatigued and prance off into the tall grass without attending to Cancer’s complaint; or if they do, come back for resolution. Cancer is never done being Cancer, but a full blown fight should not be handled in a Leonine cavalier way.

Peace Parlay: Life in the end is repetitive and mundane, and so is Romance itself. This factor asks the question: ” Can we be bored together over the long term? “ Leo loves basking in the Sun. Its’ ruler can give them great peace and comfort after a day spent leading and roaring. Cancer might see this as “not working hard enough”. Cancer would see “boredom” as a sign that things have stopped. And Cancer can never stop moving actively and achieving their minor and major goals. This would be a project for the Crab, and something that Leo would contend could never happen, because they don’t get bored. And boredom is a subjective thing that might indicate that Cancer’s life is not rich enough.

Keep Up The Interest Graph: New friends and admirers are a part of the scene for the peripatetic Cat. Cancer would see Leo’s life as pretty fast-paced and interesting. Cancer could be stimulated by the Cat’s style. Leo might tell the Crab that things needed to be “updated”. Cancer would take this as an insult, but quickly respond to the challenge to pretty up the home, the neighborhood or the overall life style.

Seven Year Itchiness: There are some signs that by their nature are more stable in their love interests and family concerns as time goes on. Others are not. Leo feels it was made to partake of the creation around them. No immorality here, it’s just the state of mind that they greet the day with. Cancer, could be jealous and suspicious anyway, and would watch for such behavior. If Cancer fell prey, it would be because of painful sorrow, or angry energy given a goal and a plan.

RATING:

ASTROCOMPATIBILITY POSSIBILITY RATING: 65% Positive Long Term – 60% Short Term .  A short term relationship could happen because of curious intrigue. Then it could go away. If they both pursued one another, and came together with a sense of destiny and a feeling that they could work things out, it could last and be dynamic. Success would mean that they were both positively learning from one another and could keep looking to a new horizon. Problems could be predicted all along the way.

LOL…the crab might “pinch” but just like when it tried to pinch Hercules, it would just be crushed by the mightier Leo who put up a much better fight as the Nemean Lion. Leo could just as easily swipe or pounce on Cancer! Don’t forget what a powerful sign Leo is!
